Empower Yourself to Help Young People

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Learn practical skills to identify, understand, and respond to the signs of mental health and substance use challenges in young people aged 12-18.

Youth mental health challenges are on the rise.  Are you ready to make a difference? Our Youth Mental Health First Aid training equips you with the knowledge and confidence to support young people facing these difficulties.  This practical, evidence-based training will teach you:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms: Learn to identify common mental health challenges among youth, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance use. Understand the impact of social media and bullying.
  • Effective communication and intervention: Develop skills in communicating with young people in crisis and navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and understanding. You'll learn to use the ALGEE action plan (Assess, Listen, Give information, Encourage professional help, Encourage self-help)
  • Connecting young people with support: Discover how to help youth access appropriate professional help and support services.
